Q: Can I use the Classic range on some windows and the Sanctuary range on others?
A: Yes, you can. Classic could typically be used at the front of a property and Sanctuary at the rear where windows are more vulnerable.

Q: Am I able to install the shutters myself?
A: The shutters are easy to install and should not pose a problem to anyone with moderate D.I.Y. skills. No specialist tools are required - just a drill, hammer and screw driver. All fittings and accessories are included with the shutters for your convenience. You may need the help of another person to hold the shutters in place as you fix them into the window recess.

Q: How much do the shutters weigh?
A: On average they weigh approximately 16kg per m².

Q: The window recess where I would like to fit the shutter is less than 100mm and therefore not the recommended depth. I would like to install shutters. Is there a solution for this?
A: Yes, this is easy to overcome by building up the window recess. We can provide an additional made to measure aluminium frame to build up the depth of the window recess. This can be done by fixing a frame  around the outside of the window recess against the external wall.  It would also be necessary to mount the hold back clip on a block equal in thickness to the frame added to your window recess to prevent the shutters from straining their hinges when opened.

Q: Is there a maximum width or height that each leaf can be?
A: There is no maximum width or height as such. The maximum area of each leaf however, is 2m². We recommend a maximum of 4 leaves per set of shutters.

Q: My windows open outwards. Would it still be possible to use shutters?
A: Yes, shutters can be made with a lock on the outside. This would mean that they can only be closed from the outside. This option is only suitable where there is easy access to the shutters eg. on the ground floor.  Alternatively, the opening and closing operation can be automated.

Q: Can the shutters be installed in every property?
A: In most properties. Please consult your local authority about any details governing your property, especially If your property is listed or falls within a conservation area.

Q: Can I buy Eden House shutters for my holiday property?
A: Yes, simply give us a call. Special delivery arrangements can be made. Please give us the delivery address where your shutters should be delivered and ensure that someone is present to accept the delivery.
