The shutters are designed to sit inside a window or door recess flush with the outside wall. As each set of shutters is made to measure, it is important that all measurements are correct.

Measuring tips
To double check measurements, we advise that two different people take the measurements as indicated in the above diagram.
When measuring please take into consideration that the frame of the shutters is 45mm thick and needs to be fitted flush with the outside wall. It is therefore wise to measure the width and the height 45mm in from the outside edge of the recess.
Always use a metal tape measure as cloth or plastic may stretch.
Please supply measurements in metres.
Measuring
As window and door recesses are not always straight, we recommend that for :
Measurement A - measure the width of the window recess at the top, the middle and the bottom and give lowest measurement. Remember to measure 45mm in from the outside edge of the recess in case it is angled.
Measurement B - measure the height of the window recess on the left, the middle and the right where it is flush with the outside wall and give lowest measurement. Remember to measure 45mm in from the outside edge of the recess in case it is angled.
Measurement C - measure the depth of the window recess to ensure that it exceeds 120mm in depth to allow for the frame and the closing mechanism of the shutter.
Measurement D - Position of closing mechanism - if the shutters are external, please remember that you need to open/shut the shutter from inside and that the closing mechanism must be reached from inside. Measure the ideal position of the closing mechanism from the bottom of the recess.
